About us

The Cornovii Trust
The Cornovii Trust Regions

“Cornovii was the name given to the people of Cheshire, Shropshire and Staffordshire in Iron Age and Roman times. This is who we are, a local trust, in the local area providing support for local schools, children and families.”

The Cornovii Trust consists of 5 local schools:

The Cornovii Trust was formed on 1/9/2022, following the merger of two local and very successful Trusts. Alsager Multi Academy Trust (AMAT), consisting of Alsager Highfields Primary, Alsager School and Weston Primary schools, and Brine Multi Academy Trust, which consisted of Audlem St James Church of England Primary and Brine Leas schools. We are therefore a cross phase Trust, currently consisting of 5 schools all in Cheshire.

Our intention is to grow but only with like-minded partners who share our vision, values and principles and only with schools who are based in the regions of Cheshire, Shropshire or Staffordshire. Our intention is to always remain a local Trust, providing bespoke support for schools, children, families and communities in our three areas.

Values and Principles

Our Supportive Trust

We operate a full scheme of delegation, each of our schools are unique and retain their individuality. Our Headteachers and Local Governing Bodies lead the schools. The Trust’s role is to support them in doing that, through sharing resources, encouraging collaboration, providing additional opportunities for pupils and staff. Our objective is to make our great schools even better through our supportive Trust.

The Cornovii Trust are the roots and foundations, while all our different schools are the trees.

Our schools are the trees & the roots form the Trust

“As a local Trust, we believe in consistency in terms of high expectations and impact for all, without uniformity in approach.”
